If you are sure that the American Staffordshire Terrier
is the dog for you then congratulations and a few pieces of advice.
The American Staffordshire Terrier is a breed which
belongs to the terrier group. They need obedience training and a lot of
attention to become an ideal friend and companion. Most American Staffordshire
Terriers are not very obedient to an owner who brings them up with a quiet
mouse-like voice.
Try to know the puppy's parents and check how they behave with other animals
and people. The character and appearance of a puppy are very similar to
those of it is parents.
The puppies in our kennel are divided into 3 groups: domestic pets, breeding
dogs and show dogs. The price will depend on the group. You have to decide
for sure why you need a dog and discuss this with the kennel's owner.
You can buy American Staffordshire Terrier of any age. They have got a
very strong nervous system and they get used to a new owner very quickly.
When you buy a puppy check that you have got enough of the dog food which
your puppy ate before. Change his diet gradually, increasing the proportion
of the new kind of food. If you change it suddenly your puppy can get
diarrhea.
When you begin to house-train your puppy, leave a piece of the dirty newspaper
in the same place: at first when the puppy is young in a house and then
in the street.. It is necessary to praise and pet the dog when it goes
in the right place. You should take your dog out not less then 5 times
a day. By 8 months it should be house-trained but it depends on you!
Better if you buy or make a pen for your puppy. It is the best way to
prevent it getting lost destroying your property or hurting itself. The
pen is not as cruel as it at first seems. A puppy does not know what it
should and should not do. That is why when it is young and inexperienced
you have to predict that it could chew an electric wire and die or dirty
the whole house or rummage through a bin or eat dangerous chemicals. There
are a lot of amazing but dangerous places for puppies. Leave it in the
pen when you are out and show that you love it! Do not let your puppy
do the things you would not want to see in an adult dog!
American Staffordshire Terrier is the best, the most
intelligent, most affectionate, most fun-loving breed in the world! See
for yourself - you will not be disappointed!
